About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position as a Physician Assistant for Acute Care involves providing specialized care in the Acute Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU), a 44-bed inpatient unit. The role entails supporting high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients, including those transitioning from intensive care. The unit employs a collaborative coverage model with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and residents ensuring continuous patient care. Responsibilities include managing congenital and acquired cardiac conditions, providing care for heart failure and transplant patients, writing daily notes, and possibly being assigned to any of the three rounding teams. The estimated base pay for these positions are $120.18 to $142.03 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct specific assessments and create care plans for pediatric cardiac patients.
- Provide complex medical management, such as inotropic infusions and external pacing wire management.
- Collaborate with cardiology fellows, residents, and attending physicians in a team-oriented care model.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including writing daily notes.
- Stay informed on the latest research and practices in pediatric cardiac care.
Job Requirements:
- Advanced Critical Care certification is required.
- Experience with ventricular assist devices, trach/ventilator dependence, and complex cardiac conditions.
- Ability to manage high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients.
- Strong proficiency in documentation and note writing.
