About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Women’s & Newborn Services to lead our client’s dedicated Birthing Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the Hudson Valley area. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape patient care delivery, mentor nursing teams, and drive operational excellence within a collaborative healthcare environment focused on exceptional outcomes for mothers, infants, and families.
The annual base salary range is $165,000 to $180,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Labor & Delivery, Birthing Center, Postpartum, and NICU services
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, patient safety, and clinical excellence
- Partner with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve quality outcomes and patient experience
- Lead recruitment, retention, succession planning, and professional development initiatives for nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards
- Monitor department performance metrics, quality indicators, staffing effectiveness, and budgetary goals
- Support evidence-based practice initiatives and continuous quality improvement efforts
- Participate in organizational committees, leadership councils, and strategic planning activities
- Promote equitable, compassionate, and culturally responsive care for diverse patient populations
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and resource utilization across service lines
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 7 years of nursing experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Maternal Child Health, Women’s Services, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Pediatrics, or related specialty areas
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams within Women’s Services or Neonatal Care
- Demonstrated success in quality improvement, staff engagement, and operational leadership
