About the Opportunity:
The RN in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides expert care to patients recovering from anesthesia. This full-time contract role involves managing airway, anesthesia recovery, and pain management while ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery. Responsibilities include collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care and floating to other facilities as needed.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $52.80 to $62.40 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing care plans in the PACU.
- Providing expert recovery monitoring and education to patients and their families.
- Collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and recovery outcomes.
- Staying informed on latest anesthesia recovery research and best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Valid California RN License and BSN degree.
- Minimum 5 years experience, with 3 years in PACU settings.
- Expertise in airway management and anesthesia recovery.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Preferred CCRN or CPAN certification and 2 years critical care experience.
- Familiarity with Epic charting system.
- Ability to work in preoperative and extended care units.
