About the Opportunity:
This full-time RN position in the Med Surg unit involves providing care for patients with various medical conditions, including oncology, hematology, nephrology, endocrine, GI, and dermatology, as well as general medicine. Responsibilities include managing patient care for complex diagnoses such as cancer, ESRD, diabetes, and abdominal pain. This contract position requires floating between units and flexibility in scheduling with shifts from 6:30 PM to 7 AM. Scrubs are navy blue. The estimated base pay for these positions are $48.34 to $57.13 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for patients with complex medical conditions.
- Provide specific types of therapy or education related to oncology, hematology, nephrology, and more.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across multiple specialties to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress using EPIC EMR.
- Stay informed on current practices in Med Surg and oncology care.
Job Requirements:
- Current registered nurse license in New York State and verified through NURSYS.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Med Surg/Oncology settings.
- Travel experience required.
- Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications.
- Proficiency with IV pumps, NG tubes, and other specialty equipment.
