About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position in a specialized adult medical/surgical unit focuses on patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues. The unit is unique, with only a handful of similar ones in the country. Candidates must be flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to caring for a varied patient population in a changing environment. Med/surg acute care experience enhances eligibility for dual-certification in both medical/surgical nursing and psychiatric nursing.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.15 to $60.45 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and creating personalized care plans.
- Providing care to patients with medical/surgical needs and psychiatric or behavioral issues.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and response to treatment.
- Staying informed on the latest developments in both medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing.
Job Requirements:
- Current RN License (NY License ONLY).
- Minimum 2 years of med surg experience.
- Psychology experience required.
- Telemetry experience.
- BLS certification (AHA ONLY).
