About the Opportunity:
As an RN in Oncology, provide specialized care to pediatric patients in an inpatient setting. Assume a contract position with 12-hour night shifts. Provide comprehensive oncology nursing care, including administration and management of chemotherapy, assessing patient progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Float to various UCSF facilities as needed, with a focus on adapting quickly to diverse clinical environments.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct oncology-specific assessments and create individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
- Provide chemotherapy and supportive care therapies, including managing ports and administering necessary medications.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress in accordance with established guidelines, using the Epic charting system.
Job Requirements:
- CA RN License, BSN, AHA BLS, and PALS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric oncology/inpatient oncology settings.
- Preferred: APHON and chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) certifications, Epic experience, and hem/onc experience.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and multitasking within high-acuity settings.
