Assistant Director of Nursing (Med-Surg) – RN Leadership

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support leadership within our client’s Med-Surg department in Brooklyn. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse leader who is passionate about operational excellence, staff development, and delivering high-quality patient care.

The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (Day Shift)
  • Annual Salary: $140k-$150k (varies depending on years of experience)

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior nursing leadership to oversee daily clinical operations
  • Support coordination of nursing services across internal medicine and surgical units
  • Help ensure efficient workflows and high standards of patient care
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including chart audits and performance reviews
  • Promote evidence-based practices and continuous improvement strategies
  • Assist in monitoring clinical outcomes and identifying areas for enhancement
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of nursing staff
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations
  • Encourage a positive, team-oriented culture
  • Contribute to policy development, clinical standards, and care protocols
  • Assist with budget planning related to staffing, equipment, and supplies
  • Help align departmental goals with broader organizational objectives

 

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • One of the following:
    • Master’s degree in Nursing with 5+ years of experience (including leadership experience)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with 6+ years of experience (including supervisory or teaching experience)
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication across multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of internal medicine and surgical nursing practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
