About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected healthcare organization known for its high-quality, community-focused care, is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse Manager to join their leadership team in Bergen County, NJ. The nursing leader in this role will manage a supportive, inclusive team dedicated to delivering compassionate care to a diverse patient community, with real opportunities to lead, grow and make an impact.
The annual base salary range is $115,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Nursing to set unit goals, track progress, and serve as a liaison between nursing leadership and medical staff
- Develop staffing plans and schedules using utilization data to ensure appropriate coverage and staffing mix
- Review vacation/holiday schedules, approve overtime, and arrange coverage for staff absences
- Select, hire, and supervise unit staff — including performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions when needed
- Monitor compliance with professional and regulatory standards to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Identify staff training and development needs and help design programs to strengthen clinical competency
- Lead team meetings and communications to support effective, patient-centered care delivery
- Review admission, discharge, and patient management protocols to ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee quality assurance/quality improvement initiatives, including identifying issues and implementing follow-up actions
- Prepare utilization, credentialing, and schedule reports required for regulatory compliance
- Support the Director of Nursing in annual budget development and monitoring budget performance
- Serve as a clinical and managerial resource for staff
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required (Master’s preferred)
- Current NJ RN licensure
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- 2+ years of critical care experience
- IV certification required
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
