About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected healthcare organization known for compassionate, community-driven care, is seeking an experienced Night/House Supervisor to join their overnight team in Bergen County, NJ. The nursing leader in this position will help ensure smooth and safe operations, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to resource and decision-maker for clinical and operational issues across the facility during night shift
- Oversee staffing levels and adjusting schedules as needed to maintain safe, appropriate coverage across units
- Act as a liaison between nursing units, clinical leadership, and ancillary departments to resolve issues in real time
- Monitor compliance with professional standards and identify staff education or competency needs
- Investigate and document unit occurrences, ensuring timely follow-up and communication
- Support quality assurance and performance improvement efforts by identifying patient care issues and helping implement monitors
- Provide leadership during emergencies or crisis situations, including internal/external disaster response
- Supervise staff, including input on hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary matters as needed
- Communicate important updates and best practices to unit staff through meetings and other channels
- Maintain accurate departmental records and statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes
- Support budget awareness and recommend efficiency improvements within nursing operations
- Uphold organizational policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required (MSN preferred)
- Current NJ RN licensure
- BLS/ACLS certification required
- IV certification required
- Comfortable managing emergency/crisis situations and multitasking across departments
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assist with patient handling/transfers as needed
