About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading outpatient specialty healthcare organization in New York City, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join its growing clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity for an RN who thrives in a patient-focused environment and enjoys delivering high-quality peri-anesthesia care to both pediatric and adult patient populations.
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and compassionate pre- and post-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation services
- Assess patients prior to procedures, including obtaining vital signs, initiating IV access, and accessing central venous lines when appropriate
- Monitor patient recovery and provide discharge education and follow-up instructions to patients and caregivers in an understandable and supportive manner
- Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding symptom management, recovery expectations, and treatment-related care needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and clinical excellence
- Support a patient-centered environment that prioritizes comfort, dignity, communication, and exceptional care experiences
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection prevention standards, and organizational clinical protocols
- Assist with additional nursing and operational responsibilities as needed
Job Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience required
- Previous PACU, recovery room, peri-anesthesia, procedural, ambulatory surgery, or critical care experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain composed and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment
