About the Opportunity:
This position operates and prepares specialized equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. It applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and patients' needs. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $63.25 to $74.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs MRI imaging procedures.
- Positions patients and associated coils to obtain optimum study.
- Provides patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
- Reviews all patient safety questionnaires prior to introducing any patients into the MRI scan room.
- Ensures all MRI images are appropriately labeled as specified by the department SOP.
- Evaluates images for technical acceptability and transmits images to PACS in a timely fashion.
- Maintains safety standards via strict adherence to safety guidelines to prevent the introduction of ferromagnetic material into the scan room.
- Protects self, patients, and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
- Attends in-services and other professional development meetings.
- Maintains in good standing, licensure specific to job including adherence to Article – of the Public Health Code.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
- A.R.R.T. MRI registry.
- BCLS Certified.
- Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and M.R. physics.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Two years' experience in MRI preferred.
