About the Opportunity:
This position operates specialized MRI equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. The MRI Tech applies technical judgment to obtain studies of diagnostic quality according to protocols and patient needs. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $63.25 to $74.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures.
- Position patients and associated coils for optimal study.
- Provide patient education about specific imaging procedures.
- Review all patient safety questionnaires before MRI scanning.
- Ensure MRI images are labeled according to SOP.
- Evaluate images for acceptability and transmit to PACS.
- Complete all studies in IDX in a timely fashion.
- Maintain radiology room and equipment cleanliness.
- Scan patient-related documents.
- Maintain supplies in the radiographic room.
- Record patient tracking information into IDX.
- Schedule exams in IDX as required.
- Inform supervisor of equipment repairs or unsafe conditions.
- Assist physicians as required.
- Maintain safety standards according to guidelines.
- Adhere to infection control policies.
- Attend in-services and professional development meetings.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
- A.R.R.T. MRI registry.
- BCLS Certified.
- Minimum of two years' experience in MRI preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy and M.R. physics.
