About the Opportunity:
This MRI Tech position operates specialized equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. The role applies technical judgment to obtain studies of diagnostic quality according to protocols and patient needs. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $63.25 to $74.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures.
- Position patients and associated coils to obtain optimum study.
- Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
- Review patient safety questionnaire prior to MRI scan.
- Ensure MRI images are appropriately labeled.
- Evaluate images for technical acceptability and transmit images to PACS.
- Ensure completion of studies in IDX (Radiology Information System).
- Maintain radiology room and equipment cleanliness.
- Scan patient-related documents.
- Maintain supplies and accessories in the radiographic room.
- Record all required patient tracking information into IDX.
- Schedule exams into IDX as required.
- Inform supervisor or personnel of needed equipment repairs.
- Assist physician directly as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent introduction of ferromagnetic material.
- Protect self, patients, and employees by following infection control policies.
- Attend in-services and professional development meetings.
- Maintain licensure specific to job requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
- A.R.R.T. MRI registry.
- BCLS Certified.
- Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and MRI physics.
- Two years' experience in MRI preferred.
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
