About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position involves providing expert nutritional care to patients by monitoring patients for and providing education on food/drug interactions. Responsibilities include consulting with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications, recording food and drug interactions, and ensuring the best possible nutritional outcomes for patients.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $46.75 to $55.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Screen and assess patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care to determine nutritional needs and status.
- Interview patients and/or their families to obtain history of food habits and preferences.
- Interpret pertinent laboratory, physical, and social data in the medical record as applied to nutrition care.
- Provide nutrition education and record patient's diet instructions and understanding in the education section.
- Modify patient menus as needed based on nutritional needs and physician recommendations.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition.
- Minimal one (1) year of experience required.
- Two (2) years of experience preferred.
- New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist or Registration by the Commissions on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian for acute locations.
