About the Opportunity:
This dietitian role involves monitoring patients for food/drug interactions and providing related education. It requires recording food and drug interactions in the education section and consulting with physicians on appropriate diet modifications. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $46.75 to $55.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Screen and assess patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care to determine nutritional needs and status, and provide follow-up care.
- Interview patients and/or their families to obtain history of food habits and preferences.
- Interpret pertinent laboratory, physical, and social data in the medical record as it applies to nutrition care.
- Provide nutrition education and record patient's diet, diet instructions, and understanding of the diet in the education section.
- Modify patient menus as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition.
- One (1) year of experience required.
- Two (2) years of experience preferred.
- Registration by the Commissions on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian Primary Source Verification required for acute locations.
- New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist for post-acute locations required.
- Master's degree preferred.
