Dental – Dental Assistant

About the Opportunity:

Our team seeks a Dental Assistant to provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a dental office environment. This full-time contract position involves various clinical duties, from preparing treatment rooms to supporting dental operations. The candidate consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service and communication skills.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $24.75 to $29.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
  • Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues.
  • Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments, positioning instruments for the dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
  • Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  • Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  • Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning/polishing removable appliances.
  • Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Demonstrate dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or one year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • CPR card.
  • X-ray training or certification.
  • Preferred: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
