About the Opportunity:
We seek a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The position involves handling a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations that range in complexity and skill with room to learn and grow. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $18.15 to $21.45 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to both patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; position instruments for the dentist's access; suction; pass instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency drug and oxygen supply.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Demonstrate dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- CPR card.
- Certified Dental Assistant, DANB.
