Dental – Dental Assistant

About the Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The Dental Assistant handles various clinical duties essential for dental office operations, ranging in complexity and skill. This part-time contract position emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and communication skills.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping.
  • Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area; position instruments for dentist's access; suction and pass instruments.
  • Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  • Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  • Maintain patient appearance by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
  • Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency resources.
  • Educate patients with oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Stay informed on professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in societies.

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
  • CPR card.
  • Nitrous oxide certification and coronal polishing certification preferred.
