About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The Dental Assistant handles various clinical duties essential for dental office operations, ranging in complexity and skill. This part-time contract position emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and communication skills.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area; position instruments for dentist's access; suction and pass instruments.
- Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency resources.
- Educate patients with oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Stay informed on professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in societies.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
- CPR card.
- Nitrous oxide certification and coronal polishing certification preferred.
