About the Opportunity
We seek a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team by providing high levels of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This position involves handling various clinical duties for dental office operations, ranging in complexity and skill, with ample opportunities for learning and growth. All aspects of the role require exceptional customer service and communication skills. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $20.35 to $24.05 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) finalize at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to patients and colleagues through responsive interactions.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; position instruments for dentist's access; suction; pass instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Demonstrate dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by strictly adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- 6 months of experience.
- Preferred certifications include CVCT Training and RDA.
