About the Opportunity:
Assist dentists in examination and treatment of patients in a dental setting. This includes seating patients, adjusting chairs and equipment, and draping patients with sterile coverings. Lay out dental instruments and supplies; hand instruments to dentists during examinations and treatments, retract patients' mouths, and operate suction equipment to maintain the mouth free of secretions. Administer mouthwash and assist in tooth extractions or other surgical interventions. Sterilize and clean linens and instruments, maintain dental records, and assist in taking and developing dental X-rays. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $30.38 to $35.90 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient seating and adjust dental equipment.
- Lay out dental instruments and supplies.
- Assist dentists by handing instruments during procedures.
- Mix amalgam and other filling materials as requested.
- Retract patient mouths; operate suction equipment.
- Sterilize linens and instruments, maintain dental records.
- Assist in tooth extraction and surgical interventions.
- Maintain and document patient examination and treatment records.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program and a high school diploma.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a dental assistant.
- Experience assisting with oral surgery.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proficiency in English: Speak, Read, Write.
- Strong skills in communication and organization.
