About the Opportunity:
As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you work closely with oral surgeons and other clinical staff to assist with complex procedures, including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, bone grafting, and IV sedation cases. This full-time contract position suits someone who thrives in a hands-on, surgical setting and is passionate about patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $35.75 to $42.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeons with surgical procedures including extractions, dental implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, operatory, and sterilization areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Monitor and reassure patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Take and process dental radiographs, including panoramic and CBCT imaging (if certified).
- Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Manage surgical inventory, prepare surgical trays, and order supplies as needed.
- Support sedation and anesthesia setup (IV or nitrous) and recovery process under supervision.
- Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient experience.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum one (1) – two (2) years of dental assisting experience.
- Oral surgery experience.
- X-Ray certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- IV sedation and Nitrous Oxide experience recommended.
- Dental Assistant Certification preferred.
