About the Opportunity:
As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you provide support to the office and assist professional dental staff with treatment. This role focuses on preventive oral health care and values the hygiene team. The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.
- Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress.
- Update patient health history and chart treatment progress.
- Expose and develop radiographs (if certified).
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.
- Support the hygienist with patient scheduling, treatment recommendations, and office recall systems.
- Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with industry regulations including HIPAA & OSHA.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- X-Ray certification.
- At least six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant or Dental Hygiene Assistant, or in a Dental Assistant Internship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care and comfort.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree or certification in Dental Assisting.
- Preferred: Dental Assistant Certification.
