About the Opportunity:
This contract opportunity is for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) at a clinic in Stony Brook University Student Health Services. The RN provides a full range of vaccinations and immunizations, conducts clinical procedures and testing, and performs triage and direct patient care. Responsibilities include administering vaccines, performing point-of-care testing and phlebotomy, managing patient assessments, and providing comprehensive nursing service for both minor illnesses and chronic conditions. Effective patient communication and follow-up, case coordination, and medication administration and monitoring are essential tasks. The RN also participates in health education and public health initiatives.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.58 to $60.96 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans.
- Administer vaccines and maintain immunization records.
- Perform point-of-care testing and draw blood for laboratory analysis.
- Provide direct care for acute and chronic conditions, including minor injuries and illnesses.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate and deliver care.
- Educate patients on medication use and communicable disease prevention.
- Participate in public health activities, including disease surveillance and reporting.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHRs).
Job Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in occupational health settings.
- Demonstrated ability in vaccination administration and clinical assessments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
