About the Opportunity:
This is a full-time contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) in Utica, NY. The role involves providing specialized care to patients with common diagnoses such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory issues including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. The RN utilizes specialized equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, Neptune vacuum, and deals with chronic ventilation cases unable to wean. Patients range from 18 years to adults in a unit with 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds. Shift hours are from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.43 to $60.78 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct specific assessments and create care plans for patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.
- Provide therapies and education relevant to intermediate critical care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including Respiratory Therapists, to coordinate care.
- Monitor and document patient progress diligently.
- Stay informed on intermediate care unit research and practices.
Job Requirements:
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
- Active NY RN license and all other RN licenses as verified by NURSYS.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings.
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
