About the Opportunity:
Work as a Registered Nurse in the Observation Unit, providing care for adult patients who require additional observation to assess their need for hospital admission or safe discharge. This fast-paced environment manages an average of 20 to 27 patient turnovers per day, with stays averaging 27 hours. Deliver care to a diverse adult population, including emergency observation and admitted boarding patients, with 24/7 provider coverage. Participate in a full-time contract position with rotating shift schedules, including days, evenings, nights, on-call duties, potential for charge responsibilities, and holiday and weekend coverage as needed.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patient conditions to determine care needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care.
- Implement care plans and discharge plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide patient and family education regarding care procedures and post-discharge plans.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient progress and care activities.
Job Requirements:
- Current RN License (NY License ONLY).
- Minimum of two years of experience in Medical/Surgical settings.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
- Telemetry experience required.
- NIHSS certification preferred.
