About the Opportunity
This position involves providing care in an Observation Unit for adult patients who need additional observation to decide if their condition requires hospital admission or if they can be treated and safely released. The Observation Unit serves a diverse adult population, handling emergency observation and admitted boarding patients, with patient turnover ranging from 20 to 27 per day and an average stay of 27 hours. Providers offer 24/7 coverage in this fast-paced setting. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.15 to $60.45 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for adult observation patients.
- Provide nursing care, including emergency observation and treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately.
- Stay informed on best practices in fast-paced and diverse healthcare settings.
Job Requirements
- RN License (NY License ONLY).
- Two years of Med/Surg experience.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
- ACLS certification (AHA ONLY).
- Telemetry skills are required.
- NIHSS certification preferred.
