About the Opportunity:
This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric nursing services to patients. It is a full-time contract position including day, evening, and night rotating shift schedules. The Registered Nurse conducts intake assessments through patient and relative interviews to gather case history, plans and provides nursing care, and makes nursing diagnoses. The nurse consults with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans, administers and notes reactions to medications, and assists clients in understanding emotional disturbances. Additional duties include ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients, testing vital signs, maintaining patient confidentiality, documenting patient information, and performing administrative tasks.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $44.00 to $52.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments and create care plans for patients through interviews.
- Provide nursing care and diagnose medical and emotional status.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff for treatment plans.
- Administer medications and document patient reactions and progress.
- Maintain confidentiality and document treatments, immunizations, and lab results.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and completing progress notes.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Provide courteous service and respond to requests or make appropriate referrals.
Job Requirements:
- Any State RN License accepted by NYS Crisis.
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing settings.
