About the Opportunity:
Join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician, focusing on conducting preliminary screening examinations such as central and peripheral visual field tests, ocular motility tests, and more, for physician review. Responsibilities include directing patient flow, obtaining patient data, scheduling tests and surgeries, and maintaining instruments like bio-microscopes and slit lamps. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $37.40 to $44.20 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct central and peripheral visual field tests, ocular motility tests, and color vision tests.
- Collaborate with physicians by directing the flow of patients and arranging necessary tests and surgeries.
- Calibrate and maintain ophthalmic instruments, ensuring all tools are ready for use.
- Assist with minor office surgeries, laser treatments, and operating room surgeries.
- Document and report on patient progress and procedures conducted.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ophthalmic Technician Certification required.
- Proficiency in central and peripheral visual field testing, tonometry, and related skills.
- Good communication skills with patients and staff.
