About the Opportunity:
The Ophthalmic Technician provides essential ophthalmology services, assisting in patient examinations and surgeries. This full-time contract position requires completing diagnostic tests, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for procedures. The role involves working closely with ophthalmologists to ensure optimal patient care and maintaining surgical instruments.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual field assessments and intraocular pressure measurements.
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and surgeries.
- Prepare patients for exams and surgeries, including recording medical histories and obtaining informed consent.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document and monitor patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
- At least 1 year of experience in ophthalmic settings.
- BLS certification.
- Strong skills in patient education and communication.
