About the Opportunity:
This Paramedic position involves delivering ALS ground team care on night shifts as a part of Duke University Health System's Life Flight team. The role includes providing direct patient care and participating in activities across various practice settings and patient populations. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $44.00 to $52.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and creating care plans.
- Providing emergency care and stabilizing patients.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including clinical nurses and respiratory therapists, to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress.
- Staying informed on critical care procedures and emergency medical practices.
Job Requirements:
- Certification as a North Carolina Paramedic or eligibility to obtain certification in the state.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications, and a Class C driver's license.
- Preferred certifications: PHTLS, BTLS, or ITLS.
- High school diploma required; an associate degree is preferred.
- Minimum one year of ALS Paramedic experience, with two to three years of prehospital experience preferred.
- Key skills: interpretation of 12 Lead EKG, airway management, starting IVs, and emergency medication administration.
