About the Opportunity:
The Paramedic provides direct patient care as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, functioning within the Paramedic scope of practice as defined by the North Carolina Medical Board. This full-time contract position involves working with various practice settings and patient populations, focusing exclusively on ground transportation.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $35.75 to $42.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and creating care plans.
- Providing emergency medical treatments and education.
- Collaborating with Basic Life Support EMTs, Clinical Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress.
- Staying informed on current practices related to emergency medical care.
Job Requirements:
- Current certification as a North Carolina Paramedic, or ability to obtain certification in the State of North Carolina.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and a valid Class C driver's license from NC or other state.
- Preferred certifications include PHTLS, BTLS, or ITLS.
- High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
- One year ALS Paramedic experience required, preferred two to three years prehospital experience with a moderate call volume 911 agency.
- Skills in handling abnormal/normal vital sign parameters, airway management, defibrillation, and more.
