Radiology Specialist Assistant – SAM-Radiology Department

About the Opportunity:

The Radiology Specialist Assistant provides patient care services in accordance with approved delineation of privileges under the supervision of a physician. This role delivers age-appropriate care across the lifespan and supports the continuum of care through clinical expertise, patient assessment, and collaboration with the healthcare team. This is a full-time contract position.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $63.94 to $75.56 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical services to patients within scope of practice and assigned privileges.
  • Perform patient assessments using age-specific growth and development principles.
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.
  • Assist supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management.
  • Maintain patient flow and organize clinical workload effectively.
  • Provide guidance and direction to clinical staff involved in patient care.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
  • Perform fluoroscopic procedures, including barium studies (e.g., upper GI series, small bowel follow-through, and enemas).
  • Perform joint injections under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance.
  • Conduct paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures, including patient preparation, imaging guidance, and post-procedure monitoring.
  • Place abscess drains using ultrasound or CT guidance, ensuring sterile technique and accurate positioning.
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies, including site preparation and specimen collection.
  • Perform biopsies with ultrasound and CT guidance for various tissues and organs, adhering to protocols for minimizing complications.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant certifications or degrees.
  • Minimum years of experience in radiology or related field.
  • Key skills required include communication and organization.
