About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading global asset management firm, is seeking an SMA Data Oversight and Business Enablement Specialist to drive data governance, process improvement, and operational excellence for their managed account business. This New York City–based role partners closely with Portfolio Management, Technology, Compliance, Sales, and Performance teams to provide executive-level metrics, align business operations, and enable firmwide initiatives.
The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- versee data management and reporting for the Separately Managed Account (SMA) platform, ensuring accuracy and consistency across firm systems
- Deliver key business and performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Partner with Performance teams to analyze dispersion, manager-traded accounts, and model delivery
- Lead administrative and regulatory processes, including due diligence, proxy voting, regulatory mailings, and reporting requirements
- Champion continuous improvement by establishing and updating business procedures, breaking down silos, supporting onboarding, and integrating best practices
- Liaise with Portfolio Management, Legal/Compliance, Technology, Sales, and RFP teams as a subject matter expert on SMA platforms and data management
- Oversee relationships with financial intermediaries and support cross-functional strategic objectives
- Monitor outsourced back-office service providers for adherence to policies and service standards
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Visio and FINRA Series 7/66 a plus
- 7+ years of financial services experience, with a focus on client service, operations, or SMA oversight
- Strong understanding of SMA structures, tax-managed strategies, and investment products (equities, fixed income, derivatives, ETFs, mutual funds)
- Experience supporting financial intermediaries and distribution networks
- Demonstrated ability to deliver executive-ready data analysis and reporting across multiple systems
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational and communication skills, and a hands-on approach to process improvement
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with workflow/operational tools such as Charles Schwab Marketplace, Fidelity, Pershing, Aladin, Charles River, Investor Tools, InvestCloud APL, Archer, or Vestmark
