About the Opportunity
Our client, a financial services firm in St Louis, is seeking a strategic and experienced Global Benefits Director to play a key role in shaping benefits strategy and program delivery. This leader will design and implement global benefits initiatives that attract, retain, and engage a diverse workforce, while ensuring operational excellence and competitive offerings.
The Global Benefits Director will partner with finance teams for budgeting and forecasting, analyze costs to develop effective strategies, oversee health and welfare providers to maximize service and secure favorable contract terms, and lead negotiations and renewals with vendors. This individual will supervise a small team, create impactful communication plans to promote benefits and wellness participation, and ensure employees understand their options. Candidates should have substantial experience in benefits, team oversight, and global program management. This position follows a hybrid schedule.
The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $190,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and drive global benefits strategy and programs grounded in competitive practice and operational excellence that support attracting and retaining a talented and engaged workforce
- Partner with Finance on the benefits budget and forecast
- Evaluate administrative costs and pricing of benefits and recommend strategies to provide competitive and cost-effective offerings
- Direct management of health & welfare providers to maximize service levels for plan management and participants while negotiating favorable contract terms and conditions. In partnership with the internal procurement team, lead contract negotiations and renewals with vendors
- Directly supervise 2-3 members of the benefits team
- Develop compelling communication plans and programs to ensure employees have a clear understanding of the company’s benefits and wellness offerings and drive participation and awareness
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of Benefits experience
- Must have experience overseeing a team
- Workday experience is highly preferred
- Global experience is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Skilled collaborator, managing partnerships with vendors, internal stakeholders and outside consultants to achieve results
- Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills
