About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a skilled BlackLine System Administrator to serve as the global application owner across key office locations for the firm. This role will act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the BlackLine reconciliation and close management platform, supporting end users, driving process improvements, and ensuring strong governance and risk controls throughout the organization. This position can sit in Des Moines, Greenwich, El Segundo or the greater Philadelphia area.
The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $127,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the global administrator and primary point of support for BlackLine, handling user requests, configuration, and process oversight
- Provide ongoing hands-on support to business users across functional areas to optimize BlackLine’s efficiency and adoption
- Manage administrative functions for Account Reconciliation, Transaction Matching, Journal Entry, and Task Management modules (including account setup, rule construction, workflow management, and user provisioning)
- Train end-users on new BlackLine features and best practices; track application adoption and produce training documentation
- Monitor reconciliations, enforce business policies, and collaborate with stakeholders on process improvements and compliance
- Utilize close management and variance analysis tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues
- Coordinate with IT for system upgrades, maintenance, testing, integrations, and enhancements
- Develop dashboards, reports, and metrics to facilitate ongoing application and process improvements
- Identify opportunities for automation and improved efficiencies using BlackLine and related technologies
- Lead initiatives to capture requirements, document specifications, and implement continuous process improvements
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a system administrator for BlackLine, Trintech, or Oracle ARCS (BlackLine strongly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience required
- Demonstrated working knowledge of finance systems, reconciliation tools, and accounting practices; SOX compliance familiarity
- Proficiency across core BlackLine modules (Account Reconciliation, Transaction Matching, Journal Entry, Task Management)
- Experience configuring match rules, designing approval workflows, and managing user roles/access
- Previous responsibility for report and dashboard development
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving process optimization projects
- Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); familiarity with Business Objects or SmartView a plus
