Director – Private Equity / Credit / Real Assets

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading consulting firm in New York City serving the alternative investment sector, is seeking a Director to drive technology and process innovations with their clients in Private Equity, Credit, and Real Assets. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to lead major transformation and digital initiatives, steer large-scale consulting and technology projects, oversee complex project delivery, and contribute to business development and thought leadership.

The annual base salary range is $162,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic consulting engagements for private equity, credit, and real assets clients, ensuring successful project delivery and high client satisfaction
  • Manage the full lifecycle of transformation projects, from scoping and stakeholder engagement through execution and completion
  • Develop and maintain senior client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to top-tier firms in the alternatives space
  • Shape business development initiatives and contribute to the expansion of the firm’s market presence among fund managers and administrators
  • Provide operational subject matter expertise across core private equity processes such as fund and management company accounting, compliance, treasury, deal management, portfolio monitoring, tax, value creation, and investor/client reporting
  • Advise clients on fund administrator services and technology solutions relevant to private markets
  • Apply industry insight and storytelling techniques to influence key stakeholder groups and operational teams
  • Collaborate with senior segment leaders to enhance the firm’s service capabilities and knowledge base
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants and consultants in the practice
  • Support thought leadership initiatives and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

 

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in consulting, with deep expertise across private markets firms and fund administrators
  • Strong knowledge of private equity, debt/credit instruments, real assets, and associated operational and compliance functions
  • Comprehensive understanding of fund administration, investor services, and corporate/asset services
  • Broad familiarity with both traditional and alternative investment products (closed-ended, evergreen, BDC, CLO, insurance SMAs, etc.) and instruments (loans, bonds, ABS, derivatives, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling client narratives and tailor communications to various operational groups (finance, investor relations, deal teams, compliance, risk)
  • Proven track record in delivering consulting projects and technology-enabled transformation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to partner with executive-level clients and internal teams
  • Willingness to travel as needed
