About the Opportunity
Our client, a top-tier quantitative investment firm, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their Financial Planning & Analysis team in New York City. This newly created role reports directly to an exceptional Head of FP&A, offers frequent exposure to senior stakeholders, and focuses on building data-driven dashboards and analytic tools that drive decision making across the business. The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and analytic tools using AI-assisted and modern development platforms
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting, partnering with stakeholders firmwide
- Build scenario models and deliver insights for key initiatives, expense frameworks, and business health analytics
- Refactor and migrate reporting workflows into scalable SQL-based models; optimize systems for real-time financial reporting
- Coordinate with engineering and data teams around sourcing, validating, and managing data feeds
- Establish and maintain robust data governance and management frameworks to ensure data integrity and transparency
- Present insights and analyses to leadership and business teams, translating technical work into actionable recommendations
- Support ongoing process improvements, tool development, and automation initiatives for FP&A and decision support
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related field)
- 1–5 years of experience in financial analysis, analytics, or a related business/data environment
- Advanced SQL skills required (BigQuery preferred); experience with Python, dbt, and Git a plus
- Experience with AI-powered development tools, such as Claude Code, and modern approaches to dashboard/report creation
- Familiarity with front-end development (React) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) considered an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to convey technical concepts clearly to business audiences
- Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills; highly collaborative and resourceful
