About the Opportunity:
Provide intensive care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This is a full-time contract position with a responsibility to deliver specialized care for critically ill infants and children. The role involves providing care for patients with complex cardiovascular needs and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $52.80 to $62.40 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and create individualized care plans for PICU patients.
- Provide specialized therapy and administer specific treatments, including post-cardiac surgery care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including respiratory therapists and pharmacists, to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress using EMR systems like Epic.
- Stay informed on the latest research and practices in pediatric cardiovascular care.
Job Requirements:
- BSN and valid CA License; AHA BLS and PALS certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a PICU setting, preferably in a level 1 trauma hospital.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric cardiovascular ICU.
- Experience with a wide range of procedures and technologies including ECMO, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and care of ventilated patients.
- Ability to work 3X12s day shifts, with 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
