Clinical Nurse Educator

About the Opportunity

We are partnered with a leading Westchester County healthcare provider that is in search of a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join their team. While collaborating with the Health Care Team to plan, implement and evaluate educational programs related to the nursing and other clinical departments, the CNE will act as an educator, consultant, facilitator, clinician and resource person. As a role model for all nursing staff, the right individual in this role will provide continuing education programs to foster the professional development of staff and participate in the development and implementation of selected projects/activities.

The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to company Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
  • Participate in education programs and activities that promote the implementation of goals for the Nursing Division
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the orientation program for new staff members of the Nursing Division
  • Provides educational offerings for staff as required/requested
  • Incorporate principles of adult learning and utilize appropriate teaching methods in educational offerings
  • Coordinate and/or provide in-service necessary for new programs, policies or equipment
  • Participate in the planning and/or presentation of Continuing Education Programs
  • Contribute to the development of standards of practice for the Nursing Division
  • Participate in hospital projects as required/requested.
  • Keep current in Joint Commission and NYS 405 State Code requirements
  • Participate in ongoing Performance Improvement activities and initiatives as requested/ required
  • Participate in patient care to maintain expertise and ability to function as a resource
  • Assist in the analysis of educational programs
  • Assist in the maintenance of department records
  • Promote a positive image of the hospital, and the profession of Nursing to the Health Care Team, patients and the community
  • Attend mandatory hospital in-service programs and meetings as requested/required
  • Maintain specialty certification
  • Carry out other duties according to the needs of the Nursing Division
  • Participates in committees, task forces, projects, etc. as required
  • Submit all other work reports as required/requested by the CNO, Director of Clinical Education and Staff Development, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Magnet Coordinator
  • Promote professional environment and culture consistent with the ANCC Magnet Model
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

  • Current NYS License
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing required (or currently enrolled and actively pursuing)
  • BCLS, ACLS required and PALS preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care/CTICU
  • National certification in area of specialty preferred, required after 2 years in position Core Competencies
