About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our client’s Emergency Room (ER) team in Westchester County. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering high-quality and efficient emergency care, assessing, and treating patients with a diverse range of medical conditions and emergencies.
The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $165,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid and thorough assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Room
- Triage patients based on the severity of their conditions and prioritize care accordingly
- Provide prompt and effective care to patients with acute medical conditions, trauma, injuries, and emergencies
- Perform or assist in medical procedures, interventions, and resuscitations as required
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, considering the unique needs and conditions of each patient
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive care
- Perform or assist in emergency procedures, including intubation, central line placement, and other critical interventions
- Manage and stabilize critically ill patients in collaboration with emergency physicians
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and responses
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, nurses, and other staff to provide seamless and coordinated care
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and post-emergency care
- Provide counseling on preventive measures and follow-up care
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current NY state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Emergency Room/Urgent Care experience preferred
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and trauma care
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to make rapid and accurate decisions in emergency situations
