About the Opportunity
Our client is a highly respected social services organization that provides care for individuals with special needs and their family members. They are in search of a New York City-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join their team! This LCSW will play a vital role in promoting the well-being, independence, and overall quality of life for this vulnerable population. This position combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to advocacy, assessment, and intervention.
The annual base salary range is $70,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with developmental disabilities to identify their unique strengths, needs, and challenges
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, that focus on improving the mental, emotional, and social well-being of clients
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for individuals in distress, utilizing a trauma-informed approach
- Offer individual, family, and group counseling to address issues related to emotional and behavioral well-being. Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients’ emotional growth
- Advocate for clients’ rights and needs, including securing necessary resources, services, and accommodations to enhance their quality of life
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including healthcare providers, educators, and caregivers, to ensure a holistic approach to care and support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and any necessary reports
- Provide education and support to families, caregivers, and other stakeholders, empowering them to better understand and assist individuals with developmental disabilities
- Develop and implement crisis and safety plans for clients and provide training to staff and caregivers
- Stay informed about available community resources, programs, and services that can benefit clients, and assist in accessing these resources when appropriate
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current, valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including knowledge of relevant therapies and interventions
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities
