About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified MSW Social Worker to join our client’s team, serving communities in both the Bronx and Manhattan. Candidates have the flexibility to choose to work in either the Bronx or Manhattan, based on their preference and availability. This position will include providing essential social work services to individuals and families, offering support and guidance to address a wide range of social, emotional, and psychological challenges. This position requires either a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) licensure, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensure.
The annual base salary range is $50,000 to $60,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges, utilizing appropriate assessment tools and techniques
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, addressing their unique needs and goals
- Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and support to clients, fostering positive mental health and emotional well-being
- Advocacy: Advocate for clients’ rights and access to necessary services, resources, and benefits within the community
- Case Management: Coordinate services and resources for clients, ensuring a holistic approach to their well-being
- Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate assistance and support to clients facing crisis situations, ensuring their safety and stability
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation
- Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, psychologists, and other social service providers, to ensure comprehensive care
- Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach and engagement efforts to raise awareness of available services and support networks
- Professional Development: Stay updated on current best practices, research, and trends in social work and mental health counseling through ongoing training and development
Job Requirements
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree or equivalent required
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensure preferred, but not required
- Strong clinical and therapeutic skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to work with diverse populations
- Strong ethics and adherence to professional standards of practice
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish, are a plus
