About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Substance Abuse Clinical Director to lead our client’s team and oversee clinical operations within their substance abuse treatment program in Brooklyn. The annual base salary range is $90,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to a multidisciplinary team of counselors, therapists, and support staff in delivering high-quality substance abuse treatment services
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical programs and treatment protocols that are evidence-based and align with best practices in the field of addiction treatment
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures related to clinical services, documentation, and confidentiality
- Conduct regular clinical supervision sessions, case consultations, and performance evaluations for staff members, providing feedback, support, and professional development opportunities as needed
- Collaborate with medical staff, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to integrate medical and behavioral health services and address co-occurring disorders in the treatment of substance use disorders
- Oversee the intake and assessment process for new clients, ensuring thorough evaluations and individualized treatment planning based on comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments
- Monitor client progress and outcomes, track treatment metrics, and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical services
- Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning for clients in acute distress or at risk of harm to themselves or others
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, psychoeducational workshops, and family therapy sessions to address issues related to addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and interpersonal dynamics
- Collaborate with community partners, referral sources, and stakeholders to enhance access to care, coordinate services, and promote collaboration in addressing substance abuse issues at the local level
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW) from an accredited program
- Current licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of practice
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a substance abuse or mental health setting, with demonstrated expertise in clinical supervision, program development, and staff management
- Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to build rapport, lead teams, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion in providing services to individuals from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, data analysis, and reporting purposes
- Dedication to ongoing professional development, continuing education, and staying current with advances in the field of addiction treatment and clinical supervision
