About the Opportunity:
A Dental Assistant provides a high level of patient care and satisfaction while working in a team-based environment at our dental clinic in East Brunswick, NJ. This full-time contract position involves various clinical duties ranging in complexity and skill. The role requires exceptional customer service and communication skills.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $19.25 to $22.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare the treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Communicate valuable information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Sterilize and deliver instruments, position instruments for dentist's access, suction, and pass instruments.
- Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations.
- Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services in patient records.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
- CPR card.
