About the Opportunity:
We seek a Dental Assistant to provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This full-time contract position handles various clinical duties involving complexity and skill, offering opportunities for learning and growth. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues providing valuable information and support.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments, suctioning, and passing instruments.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies and handling study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances.
- Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops and professional societies.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- X-Ray Certification with at least six months of experience.
- Preferred: Dental Assistant Certification.
