About the Opportunity:
The Clinical Nurse in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) provides safe and competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their significant others. This full-time contract position involves delivering patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved nursing standards. The nurse assesses and evaluates patient care needs, integrates relevant skills in the care delivery, collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, and educates patients and caregivers about their care plan. The nurse communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and create tailored care plans.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers about health, disease prevention, and transitions of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and evaluate care plans.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately using institutional information technology systems.
- Stay informed on evidence-based practices and participate in quality improvement projects.
Job Requirements:
- New York State RN License and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiovascular Surgical ICU and post-open heart and cardiac care settings.
- Preferred experience with EPIC systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience.
- English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
