About the Opportunity:
The RN, CSICU role involves providing safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to patients in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This is a full-time contract position. The RN conducts patient assessments, applies critical thinking in care management, integrates assessment and intervention skills, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, prioritizes patient care activities, and educates patients and caregivers. Collaboration with healthcare teams to develop care plans and preparing patients for post-hospital care are essential aspects of this role. The RN also communicates effectively with patients, family, and healthcare team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and creating care plans.
- Providing education and anticipating patient care needs.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress.
- Engaging with quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities.
- Performing charge nurse duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- BSN; Associate degree with relevant experience considered.
- Current NYS RN License.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of Post Open Heart and Cardiac Care Unit experience.
- EPIC experience preferred.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
