About the Opportunity:
The X-Ray Technologist operates or oversees the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. This role includes preparing patients for radiological procedures and adhering to safety measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $55.55 to $65.65 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and others.
- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties and providing explanations of treatment.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning and adjusting immobilization devices.
- Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
- Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
Job Requirements:
- N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist.
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certified.
- Competency in performing diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in a team environment.
- Minimum two years of recent X-ray tech experience.
- English proficiency (Speak, Read, Write).
