About the Opportunity:
This is a full-time contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology at Parkside Cancer Care in Santa Monica, CA. The role involves providing exceptional care to oncology patients, focusing on cancer types including breast, hematologic, and general cancers. The RN is responsible for administering chemotherapy, managing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care. The position requires working four 10-hour shifts with variable days and no weekend responsibilities.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $46.75 to $55.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized care plans for oncology patients.
- Provide chemotherapy and infusion therapy in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacists and phlebotomists for comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including management and mitigation of side effects.
- Stay informed on the latest oncology treatments and research developments.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of 3 years outpatient oncology experience required.
- Certifications: BLS AHA, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), OCN.
- Proficiency with Epic charting system.
- Skills in accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration, and patient triage.
