About the Opportunity:
The Patient Coordinator role involves serving as the primary contact and coordinator for assigned international patients receiving care. Responsibilities include managing the full referral process, coordinating services, interfacing with counselors and staff, and providing personalized assistance and orientation at the facilities. Effective representation of International Services and organizing patient visits and medical treatment in a culturally sensitive manner is essential. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $31.90 to $37.70 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive and evaluate requests for medical services, identifying appropriate physicians and developing care plans.
- Function as a liaison between hospital, physicians, and patients throughout the care process.
- Interface with department heads and staff for treatment plans and financial clearance, communicating these to the patient and family/guests.
- Manage and coordinate physician appointments and travel arrangements.
- Represent the department in dealings with embassy personnel regarding foreign dignitary referrals.
- Provide immediate assistance and orientation to arriving patients and their families.
- Oversee registration and financial clearance with financial counselors.
- Accompany patients to appointments and provide real-time language interpretation services.
- Maintain electronic records for all patient-related information and services.
- Investigate, advocate, and record patient concerns or complaints, interacting with hospital personnel.
- Manage post-discharge follow-ups and weekly updates to financial guarantors.
- Assist with specific marketing activities and presentations to audiences locally and internationally.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, International Relations, or related field.
- 40+ hours of professional medical interpreter training or national certification if applicable.
- Medical interpretation certification in Arabic.
- 3-5 years of experience in patient services within healthcare settings or hospitality industry.
- Communication and presentation skills for cross-cultural interactions.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (verbal and written).
