About the Opportunity
Our client, a fast-growing, multi-strategy investment firm backed by prestigious institutional investors is seeking a Tax Director in New York City. In this high-ownership hybrid role, you’ll lead the firm’s tax function with the opportunity to grow the team over time.
The annual base salary range is $170,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the team across open-ended and closed-ended funds, blockers, and management company and GP entities, including federal, state, local, K-1/K-2/K-3, withholding, and international filings
- Manage external tax advisors and fund administrators
- Coordinate estimated payments, PTET, and foreign partner withholding
- Serve as the internal hub for tax elections, structuring, and digital asset transaction matters
- Oversee FATCA, CRS, Cayman, and BVI reporting
- Build scalable processes, controls, and AI-assisted workflows
Job Requirements
- 5–12 years of partnership and private fund tax experience in public accounting, asset management, or a combination of both
- Bachelor’s degree
- CPA a plus
- Open-ended fund experience is strongly preferred
- Management company, closed-end fund, and digital asset or token tax experience are all a plus
