About the Opportunity
Our client is a law firm based in Roseland, NJ that is seeking a Billing Coordinator for a temporary to-hire opportunity. As a Billing Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate client billing within the firm’s revenue management cycle. Your responsibilities include handling routine client billing, managing less complex client matter portfolios, and building strong collaborative relationships with attorneys to ensure excellent client service and satisfaction.
The base pay for this position is $25 to $33 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the billing cycle for designated client matter portfolios
- Build and maintain professional relationships with attorneys, business services personnel, and clients to ensure compliance with attorney and client specifications
- Ensure billing is in accordance with outside counsel guidelines and client-agreed rates
- Prepare work in process and bills accurately, especially for alternative fee arrangements
- Coordinate the prebill to final bill process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Collaborate with the eBilling coordinator for new clients and matter eBilling set-ups
- Communicate directly with partners, their assistants, and clients as needed
- Respond to inquiries regarding billing and payment information
- Participate in process improvement for both individual and group functions
- Perform other assigned duties
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business discipline preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of dedicated specialized billing, collections, or account management experience
- Hands-on experience with complex accounting analysis
- Background in a law firm or professional services is preferred
