About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading provider of healthcare services specializing in geriatric care, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of older adults through comprehensive and compassionate care. They are in search of a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Supervisor to play a pivotal role in providing clinical leadership and guidance to their team of nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the delivery of geriatric care services and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight to a team of nurse practitioners and support staff within the geriatric care unit
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for older adults with complex medical needs
- Conduct geriatric assessments, including comprehensive health evaluations, medication reviews, and cognitive assessments
- Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in older adults
- Serve as a resource and mentor for staff, offering guidance on clinical practice, evidence-based care guidelines, and professional development opportunities
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development activities, and regulatory compliance efforts to ensure the highest standards of care
- Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous learning within the geriatric care unit
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Gerontology or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of NY
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in geriatric care, with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices in gerontology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to older adults
